A Tubby Todd Product Review
I have previously mentioned Tubby Todd products in my Easter Basket Ideas post as items that would be perfect additions come Easter. Well, I did a little shopping for my little ones’ Easter baskets on the Tubby Todd website for some other items and wanted to share the awesome products that I found! And yes, I’m totally that mom that got out the products, used them, and then plan to put them back in their Easter baskets. Luckily, they’re still young enough, they’ll never know the difference! So no shame if that’s you too!
First of all, one of the things that I love about all of Tubby Todd products is that they are made in the USA, natural and organic ingredients, certified animal-cruelty free, and most importantly – safe for sensitive skin.
I have incredibly sensitive skin thanks to my allergies going haywire after I had Little Mister and Little Miss. So it doesn’t take much for my hands to become red and inflamed. This has just kind of become the norm with soaps since I had them, but with Tubby Todd products, I don’t have any kind of reaction. I love that I can use these products equally between myself, my preschooler, and my baby without worrying whether they are too harsh on their skin.
Let me tell you, the scents are heavenly! Sometimes I feel like, in order for a scent to be strong enough to have any kind of effect, it needs to be chemical-based, but Tubby Todd soaps and lotions have plant-based scents that are just as effective. My little ones still come out smelling amazing.
Play Mineral Sunstick
Guys. Texas is hot. And sunny. And hot. Did I mention it’s hot? Unfortunately, especially in the spring when it’s just starting to warm back up, I’m that mom that always forgets to put sunscreen on my kids. Luckily, I dress them in longer-sleeved clothes or keep them in the shade, but I get to the point where I have to do something to make sure I have some kind of sunscreen on me at all times – just in case!
Sunsticks are becoming increasingly popular on the market. They are easy to keep on you, small enough for little hands to use, and won’t become messy or melt. This year, I’m going to have several – one to have in my diaper bag, one in the car, and one in a swim bag. That way I know that no matter where I go, I’ll be prepared.
This is a new sunstick from Tubby Todd, but I can tell it’s going to be well-used and well-loved in our home. It goes on smoothly, an issue I’ve had with other sunscreen sticks that are hard to apply, and rubs into the skin easily.
These Tubby Todd Play Mineral Sunsticks are the perfect size. One stick fits perfectly in the palm of my hand, so it really doesn’t take up too much room in my diaper bag. It’s water resistant, so it will be perfect for when we go to the splash pads this summer.
All Over Ointment
We are a cloth-diapering family, which means I’m always on the look out for a good diaper cream that is cloth-diaper safe. When I found this All Over Ointment, I was so excited that it is labeled as safe for cloth diapers, I had to try it. I was not disappointed.
When I first opened the jar, I was tempted to use it on my own cracked hands and fingers. I mean, it is called “All Over” and Tubby Todd’s website does say “impressive enough for all ages.” I was not disappointed. I kid you not, my hands felt like silk after I rubbed in just a tiny amount.
We’ve been using this on Little Miss who has a bit of a rash and it’s provided so much relief for her and started to help heal. Even though it’s fragrance free, because it’s made from extracts such as honeysuckle, it still has a pleasant smell. And since it rubs in so well, it won’t cake on your fingers like other diaper rash ointments. Just rub it into your own hands and let it heal and sooth.
I’m going to be completely honest here. We bought the smaller, 3.5 oz jar, and I can tell it’s going to last FOREVER. Unless you are using this on yourself or on a larger part of the body, go for the smaller container. You really only need a finger swipe when using it for diaper rash, so the smaller size jar will last you a plenty long time.
Sweet Berry Bubble Bath
This was one of the products I bought for Little Miss’s Easter basket. Little Mister, for whatever bizarre reason, is not a fan of bubble baths. That’s ok – he likes what he likes.
However, I believe all of us have the right to be able to enjoy a nice, relaxing bubble bath. As a kid, I used to love giving myself a bubble beard or pile the bubbles on top of my head. I could’ve stayed in a bubble bath for hours until my fingers were pruny and the bubbles had all dissolved. Needless to say, I’m hoping that Little Miss loves bubble baths since her brother does not.
This Sweet Berry scent is one of their new spring scents and is pretty delicious smelling. It’s blackberry and vanilla. The scent isn’t overpowering, but also gives a nice aroma perfect for the spring.
If I can ever sneak away long enough to have my own bubble bath, I might be sneaking this bubble bath into my own bathroom. The bubbles were the perfect amount, didn’t disappear right away, and it didn’t take much to fill the bathtub with bubbles. Just writing about it has made me want a relaxing soak in the bubble bath…
Hair & Body Wash
While Little Miss is starting to get more hair (and curls!), Little Mister has always had thick hair. He’s like a little surfer dude with his white blond hair that hangs barely over his ears and eyes. Unfortunately, he has what I like to call the Plybon-gene. It comes from my side of the family and it’s a gene where some of the men get so incredibly sweaty and red-faced after running or playing. Which means in the summer, Little Mister needs to have his beautiful white blond surfer hair washed…a lot.
We’ve tried all kind of different shampoos. So many of them either leave his hair oily or a dry, tangled mess. Some of the most popular hair & body washes broke his skin out or left his face so dry it cracked. Because of the ingredients and how Tubby Todd makes their products, I knew I didn’t have to worry about any of that.
Tubby Todd’s hair & body wash was my favorite scent when I opened the box – lavender and rosemary. It’s the perfect scents to use for baths before bedtime because the scents are so calming and relaxing. And, like their other products, it doesn’t take much for the hair & body wash to be effective, making one bottle last a long time.
Tubby Todd products are seriously amazing. You won’t regret adding them to your little one’s Easter basket or just purchasing them to start using whenever. If you purchase $50 or more (which, isn’t hard if you are getting a bubble bath, a hair & bath wash, and sunscreen), you can get free shipping! Your products come quickly and you get tracking all the way to your house, which is really cool.
I hope you and your little ones enjoy the products from Tubby Todd and have a wonderful bath time!
