Every year I struggle trying to come up with stocking stuffer ideas. The big gifts, that’s fairly easy – especially once they are old enough to tell me what they want or have really enjoyed playing with a particular toy at their friend’s house. But stocking stuffers? What do I get a child that is small enough for their stocking and yet will still excite them when they pull it out?
So here is a list of my 10 favorite stocking stuffers for preschoolers!

Babiator Sunglasses
Babiator brand sunglasses are known for their sunglasses for babies and young kids. These stylish sunglasses are all of the things you would hope for with sunglasses for children – impact and shatter resistant, flexible, soft, and have UV protection – but they also have one feature that makes them stand out from other companies. Should you lose a pair or your pair break, Babiators will replace them at no charge! That’s HUGE because, let’s be honest, kids are likely to lose their sunglasses.
We own several pairs and one of Little Mister’s pairs got pretty scratched up one day when he fell and slid on the sidewalk. I just filled out the quick online form and a few days later, new sunglasses were in our mailbox! It’s very easy and Little Miss and Little Mister LOVE their pairs.
Stickers
Little Mister loves stickers. Any stickers, he isn’t picky. He likes to wear them or add them to his artwork and crafts. We have books of stickers of just about every Disney character that he’s seen. Target and Michaels have little themed books of stickers in their dollar sections. Grab a book or two to add to your kiddo’s stocking.
Toothbrush (and Toothpaste)
Preschoolers are at that age when you are trying to encourage more independence. Brushing their teeth is a responsibility you want to encourage them to try first. To encourage this, a fun and fancy toothbrush and toothpaste in their stocking is perfect!
There are lots of cool light up toothbrushes on the market that will light up the amount of time they will need to brush their teeth. There are also a few, such as the Philips Sonicare for Kids, where there is an accompanying app that will play songs for the length of time they need to brush. There are also fun Oral-B battery toothbrushes that are designed with some of their favorites movies in mind, such as Star Wars or Frozen. Any of these options would be fun choices for a child to discover in their stocking.
Art Supplies
Is your child a little artist? Do they love to draw and create? Stuck their stockings with some new art supplies! Grab some sequin packs, pipe cleaners, stamps and stamp pads, and watercolor paints that they can use in the new year. Have a little fun in your local craft store picking out a few supplies that you think your child might use to have imaginative play!
Daddy and Me Socks/Mommy and Me Matching Headbands
If your preschooler loves to be just like mommy or daddy, there are cute matching accessory pairs on the market. We love the brand Pair of Thieves for their matching daddy and me socks.
Every Sunday, Little Mister and my husband pick out their socks to match, and they are in fun designs that Little Mister thinks are so cool and adult. Happy Socks also has matching daddy and me socks in fun designs sure to excite your child.
I also saw at Target this year that they have matching mommy and me accessories such as headbands, hats, and gloves! I grabbed a cute pair of hats for Little Miss and I to match this winter season. Be sure to check out their selection!
Books
I’m a big believer that you can never have too many books. We have cabinets and shelves stuffed full of books. It is actually a tradition, started by my mom, that one gift is a Christmas book every year. Our collection is over 30 Christmas-themed books at this point, but there is always room for more.
If Christmas books are what you’re looking to add, check out the Peek Inside series from Usborne Books. These Lift-The-Flap books are made of stronger material so that they don’t rip as easily when handled by little hands and have laser-cut designs that add depth to the pages. We have several of these books including the Peek Inside Nighttime, Peek Inside Animal Homes, Peek Inside Dinosaurs, but my favorites are the newly launched Peek Inside Fairy tales including The Nutcracker and Beauty and the Beast. The designs in these books are intricate but sturdy. Check out all of the different themes to see which would interest your child the most.
Melissa and Doug Water Wow Books
I love the Water Wow books for on-the-go. It’s easy to grab one to take with us into a restaurant, small enough to keep in a diaper bag if I choose, and study enough that the pages won’t be easily bent. The pages are made of a special material that, when wet, turn bright, fun colors. After several minutes, the pages will dry and turn black and white again, ready to be played with again!
Each Water Wow comes with it’s own water pen with storage so that you don’t easily lose it. There are all kinds of engaging themes, from search-and-find animal books to ones where children can practice writing their letters and numbers. I love the reusable nature of these books, and they have the Melissa and Doug name, so you know they are high-quality products.
Bubbles
Every preschooler I know loves bubbles! Little Mister will see a bubble wand in the store and immediately pick it up, asking for me to blow bubbles. The bubbles wands come in a variety of colors and are the perfect shape and size to fit in a stocking. You can grab one or a couple to fill with. Just be prepared to blow some bubbles on Christmas day!
Kyte Baby Pajamas
Kyte Baby brand started by creating onesies, pajamas, and sleep sacks for babies. Recently, they expanded into toddler pajamas and adult loungewear. Their pajamas come in both solid colors and patterns and are made from super soft bamboo. The pajamas are long-sleeved, but the material is light and airy so your toddler won’t get overheated in the night.
We bought Little Mister the Pasture print last year and he loved them. They have little border collies that look similar to our dog, Elvis, and he was so excited to have his puppy brother on his pajamas. They do tend to run on the smaller side, so I recommend sizing up. Sizes go all the way up to 7T.
Craft Kits
There are lots of fun activity kits that you can find at your local craft store. Just a couple that I’ve seen include kits for making bead jewelry, sand art, pillow starter kits, and more! There are so many creative options for activities that you can do with your kids.
If you are interested in bringing a new activity kit to your preschooler for the next year, check out the Junior Discovery Box Subscription by Green Kid Crafts! This subscription based company sends your child a new activity kit each month based on their age. For 2-4 year olds, they send their Junior Discovery Box which includes 4-8 STEAM activities for play and learn per crate as well as a magazine and a book! For 5-10 year olds, they send their Discovery Subscription Box which includes activities to explore art, science and engineering. You can choose monthly, 3-months, 6-month, or 12-month subscriptions and change the age level of box at any time! They also have plans for sibling kits when you need more than one kit. This is a fun gift that keeps giving all year through!
If your little one is interested in travel, check out the Little Passports Subscription Box. For 3-5 year olds, they have the Early Explorers Subscription. Each month your kiddo will receive themed activities, stickers, and souvenirs to add to the little orange suitcase they receive their first month. They also have world, USA, and science-themed expedition boxes. You can choose monthly, 6-month, or 12-month subscription plans. This is an amazing way to introduce your child to the world.
