Not everything is my strong suit. In fact, contrary to what I tell my husband, there are several things that I’m downright terrible at. One of these things is thank you notes.
I remember this one time, when I was little, I had convinced my mom to purchase the cute themed thank you cards that went along with my invitations. I was so excited because I was going to be so good and write thank you cards this time like a good little hostess. The party came…the party went…and despite my best efforts to sit down and write thank you cards, it just didn’t happen.
I know exactly how many times I’ve written thank you cards – after my graduations, after my wedding, following one Christmas when I had resolved to write them, and after the baby showers for my children.
It isn’t that I’m not thankful. In fact, thanks to technology, I try to make a concerted effort to send the person a thank you when I use the item with a quick photo. But the truth is, nothing is quite like a good, old fashioned thank you card in the mail. And though I may not be the best at them, I’m trying to teach my children better.
I don’t expect them to write long cards of thanks for their gifts. They are only young children. So enter today’s printables. These are the perfect thank you cards for your little ones so that they can express their thanks in the way that is best for them.
If you have a child who would like to draw a picture, perhaps of them playing with the item, then check out the thank you note with the drawing. There is a perfect space for them to express their gratitude in the way they love.
Maybe your child would like to write their thank you sentiments and is old enough to do so? The writing thank you card provides a few lines, the perfect space for a quick note about what they are looking forward to about the gift the most.
If your child isn’t a drawer or writer or is younger, perhaps the “fill-in-the-blank” thank you is right up their alley. They can choose which adjectives and verbs describe their thanks the best. If they feel inclined, they can even draw a little picture on the back of the thank you.
Expressions of gratitude don’t have to be intricate. They can be simple and direct, but demonstrating thanks can have lasting effects on your children. Now, after the whirlwind of the holiday gifts is the perfect time to start!
